On the bleeding edge of water filtration science, is the concept of growing healthy microbes on the pleats of water filters.  These healthy microbes will combat bad bacteria. This is a huge idea for many reasons.  If this works it will mean less chlorine in the water and better filtration for people living in rural areas of the world.

Wells running dry in the midwest

#water #wellwater #midwest

We’ve received calls in the office here at Angel Water, that people are experiencing silt or sand in their well water. We’ve found it’s because their well is drying up. This has lead many to believe that there’s something wrong with their water softening systems and home water purification systems.

Why are wells drying up?

This summer was the hottest summer on record and also the driest. (source: http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/summer-2012-in-running-for-hot/68155) This combination of events concerns all of us that live in the area. To work around this issue, well owners have had to get water delivered or are getting their wells drilled deeper.  Both expensive propositions.

The importance of well water testing

Why do we test well water again? Pesticides

“A study of 628 private wells by the Stamford Health Department found that 195 had some amount of the pesticides Chlordane or Dieldrin. More than half of those 195 had concentrations that put residents who regularly drink the water at a greater risk for health problems, as defined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.”

Judge says that Crestwood water contamination cases must stand alone.

The city of Crestwood, IL knowingly pumped contaminated drinking water to residences for over a decade. The contaminates are perchloroethylene known as “Perc” and vinyl chloride.  Both carcinogens and caused many to be sick. Activated Carbon filters and Reverse Osmosis systems remove’s these contaminates.
